Whether you are hosting a mobility meet, a pre-season practice meet, a Kentucky Qualifier, or a State Championship. If the event is sanctioned do you know which rules to follow. Mobility and Pre-season Practice meets need to follow the current USA Gymnastics R&P Kentucky Qualifiers and State Championships need to follow both the current USA Gymnastics R&P and the Kentucky R&P Here are a few checklist items to be ensure your event is a success. Before your event
Complete the Meet Directors exam
Apply for a sanction through USA Gym
Submit a judge’s request form to Candace Alvey, Kentucky SJD
Request a Certificate of Insurance for your facility
During your event
Check the credentials of everyone on the floor
Check equipment for safety and security
Double check athlete information for accuracy
Remember to not mix sessions of sanctioned athletes with non-sanctioned athletes
After your event
Reporting to the National Office (completed sanction report and the sign-in sheets for coaches & judges)
Reporting to the Regional Administrator (completed sanction report, the sign-in sheets for coaches & judges, and regional head tax)
Reporting to the State Administrator (completed sanction report, the sign-in sheets for coaches & judges, and state head tax)
Reporting results only need to go to the State Administrator; the Regional Administrator and National Office do not need or want the results.
State Championships require additional reporting listed in the National R&P
Remember hosting a sanctioned event is a privilege and a responsibility. Failure to follow the rules & policies set by the National Office and State Committee could result in the following; loss of sanction approval from the National Office, loss of Kentucky Qualifier status from the State Committee, fines issued from the National Office & the State Committee, and a loss of Meet Director certification from the National Office.
Good Luck to everyone this season. We look forward to a great season of Kentucky Gymnastics.
USA Gym offers additional Event Tools for all sanctioned events. Specific reporting information can be found in the Kentucky Rules & Policies.
